RAHUL DHIMAN

Rahul is a Chicago-native actor/writer/director with a foundation in Chemical Engineering from UC Berkeley. His shift from the battery technology industry to the entertainment industry began with the creation of Upside Brown - a 9 episode mockumentary-satire streaming series that delves into the intricacies of Indian- American cultural identity.

Following this, he founded Raninj Entertainment where he dedicates himself to producing films, TV series, and music videos that highlight universal themes through a South Asian perspective. Additionally, Rahul combines his engineering and film background with his work at CineTech Productions, a company that he founded with the mission of crafting engaging content for B2B tech companies.

Rahul’s role at The Chicago Kasam includes designing film components of our Festival Showcase program, curating the Kasam Film Fund, and contributing to building the film community in the Chicagoland area from the South Asian stand point. His expertise in creating and producing a variety of film and media related projects paired with his dedication to uplifting all voices makes him the perfect fit for this role!
